Mr. C.B. Tan, Managing Director
Joining Sia Huat in 1967 under the guidance of his late father and the founder of Sia Huat, Mr Tan Chah Sia, CB went on to be our Managing Director in 1982.
As Sia Huat chief steward, CB steered our company from a small household goods retailer to a leading provider of foodservice solutions in the region. Today, CB continues to provide the overall corporate direction and strategy, charting our expansion course and leading the management team. CB also spearheads branding initiatives, oversees product development and develops agency lines.
Distinguished in the foodservice industry, CB is the incumbent President of the Chinaware Merchant Association (SCMA), Treasurer of the Singapore Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers (SAFEMS), Council member in the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), member of the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan as well as an associate member of the Food & Beverage Managers Association (F&BMA), and the Singapore Chef Association (SCA).
Ms. Katherine Tan, Executive Director
Upon the encouragement of our founder and her late father Mr Tan Chah Sia, Katherine joined Sia Huat as a sales manager in 1982. She brought with her experience as a technician with the Public Works Department and estimator for United Insulation Services, a subsidiary of the Wah Chang Group.
In the early days, Katherine oversaw Sia Huat general operations covering accounts, import and export documentation, inventory management and retail sales. Today Katherine provides operational leadership in Sia Huat retail business at our Temple Street outlet, which contributes over thirty percent of our annual sales revenue. As the Executive Director, she also manages local agency lines and provides overall marketing direction.
Mr. Alan Ang, Group Financial Controller
Alan joined Sia Huat in 2006, bringing with him about 20 years of experience in finance, group and general accounting, budgeting, business analysis, cash forecast, internal controls, risk management, auditing, and tax functions. As our Group Financial Controller, Alan manages the Accounts, Information Technology, and Warehouse & Logistics departments. He also oversees the financial aspects of Sia Huat overseas investments, including Hocatsu (M) Sdn Bhd, Hocatsu Pratama Indonesia, and Hocatsu Bali.
Prior to joining Sia Huat, Alan was the Financial Controller of the Mount Faber Leisure Group. This was preceded by seven years of diverse finance and operational experience with Li & Fung, a Hong Kong-headquartered worldwide integrated distribution services group with an annual turnover of US$800 million. His earlier appointments were at Inchcape Marketing Asia Pacific as its Internal Audit Manager, Philips Singapore and KPMG where he spent six years.
Alan is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master in Business Administration from Macquarie University.
